What will GEM Literacy Do?

Support schools to develop their knowledge of ‘The Why’ of a Structured Literacy approach.

Support educators to apply this knowledge within a Year 1-8 classroom (‘The How’ of Structured Literacy).

Focus on how to teach explicitly, systematically and cumulatively.

Grow literacy links (reading, writing and spelling) across the curriculum.

Help support schools to develop a whole-school tiered (Tier, 1, 2 and 3) approach to improve outcomes for all ākonga.

Discover how to support all learners, especially those who are at risk of struggling in literacy.
